Can guests contribute in different currencies if they're based abroad?

Yes, absolutely! Guests from all over the world are welcome to contribute to your wedding gift list. We’re proud to offer a service that supports couples and their guests, wherever they are in the world.

How it works:

As The Wedding Shop is a UK-based company, all transactions are processed in Pounds Sterling (GBP). This means:

  • Guests based overseas can contribute using their local currency

  • Their payment will be automatically converted into GBP at the time of purchase

  • The contribution will be reflected on your gift list in GBP

Are there any additional charges?

There are no extra charges from The Wedding Shop for international transactions. However:

  • Guests' banks or card providers may apply a currency conversion fee or foreign transaction charge

  • These fees are not controlled or applied by The Wedding Shop and will depend on the guest’s individual bank or payment provider

Good to Know:

  • Contributions from international guests follow the same secure payment process

  • All contributions will still be held safely in your gift list until you're ready to use them

If any of your guests have questions about payment or fees, they’re welcome to get in touch with our friendly Customer Care team, and we’ll be happy to help.

💬 Chatbot Summary Version:

Q: Can guests contribute in other currencies if they live abroad?
A: Yes! All payments are processed in Pounds Sterling, but international guests can contribute using their local currency. Their bank may charge a conversion fee, but we don’t apply any extra charges ourselves.
