Can guests contribute in a different currency if they're based abroad?

Yes – guests from anywhere in the world can contribute to your wedding gift list, regardless of their location.
 

As The Wedding Shop is a UK-based service, all gift list transactions are processed in Pounds Sterling (GBP). While this doesn't affect UK-based guests, international guests may see a currency conversion at checkout depending on their bank or card provider.

Here’s what your guests need to know:

  • 💳 All contributions are processed in GBP

  • 🌐 Guests can use international payment cards - most major cards are accepted

  • 🧾 We don’t apply any international fees, but the guest’s bank may charge a currency conversion fee

  • 📧 After their purchase, they’ll receive a confirmation email detailing their gift

There’s no extra setup needed on your side, and you’ll be able to see all contributions - regardless of where your guests are based - in your Thank You Manager.

If a guest has questions about making a payment or encounters any issues, our friendly Customer Care team is on hand to help with support or even to assist with placing the contribution over the phone.
